A relentlessly prolific composer of Instrumental music, songs from this record features on the DVD of 'American Pie 3'. Big beats with trip-hop ambience...slide guitar and organ stabs....trash can funk to gorgeous dark electro.....cassette samples from strangers along the way...all glued together by Gooding'S phenomenal skill as a producer/engineer and multi-instrumentalist. The Beat Wheel is the closest to Gooding's trip hop and breakbeats roots since the 2000 release '3X'- and in fact some of the tracks on this release are b-sides from that era. The kid's from the school-yard are back- and a new narrator, BIG LUMP is hysterical in moving the record and Gooding's creativity along.The production is outstanding on this 19 track ride, and though this is listed as a collection of bsides in a series of limited edition eco-paks, this album could absolutley stand on it's own in form and presentation.
