A great early jump blues / R&B instrumental single originally released in 1954 on the Power Records label, The Shytan's "Savoy Mambo" b/w "BMT Express" features the excellant sax work of alto saxophonist Chester Dixon. The "A" side is a medium groove mambo cover of the Perez Prado composition that rolls along nicely, while the "B" side is a raucous up-tempo rocker featuring Dixon's wailing sax. The Shytans are the same group that backed The Harptones and other artists on the Bruce Records label in the mid-1950s. The rare classic single is presented here newly remastered and finally made available in the digital domain.
